Code of Conduct

As a user of protocols.io you will uphold this code of conduct, and are responsible for all activities and content you post/upload.

Code of conduct for protocols and comments

We screen all new protocols published on protocols.io for spam, pseudoscience, content that may pose a health risk, or content that is otherwise inappropriate. All contributions to protocols.io must be civil, polite, and reasonable. Harassment of any kind will not be tolerated. Any comments added to protocols must pertain in some way to the protocol being commented on and adhere to basic standards of civil discourse. By adding your protocol to protocols.io or commenting, you agree to abide by these simple rules.

Per our terms of service,  we reserve the right to remove content that is in breach of our guidelines, and therefore any contributions that do not meet these standards will be removed. Any users who consistently breach these basic standards will have their account deactivated. The moderation team at protocols.io will be the final arbiter of whether content is appropriate for inclusion on the protocols.io site.

Comments

protocols.io has the functionality for all registered users to comment on public protocols. Comments may be posted privately (these will be directed only to the owner of the protocol) or publicly. Authors of comments will be identified by their protocols.io account.

Comments should be used to query the protocol owner or other users, make suggestions or request clarifications, or provide constructive feedback. These are designed to lead to threaded discussions about the protocols at either the individual step- or protocol-level.

All comments are subject to the protocols.io terms of service as they pertain to all content posted on the site. Comments that are deemed inappropriate can be reported; any such comments will be subject to moderation and may be removed. We reserve the right to suspend the privileges of any registered user.

Flagging Inappropriate Comments

Anyone who is concerned about potentially inappropriate content is encouraged to report the comment (this is easy to do by clicking the three dots at the top right corner of the comment to view more options; you will find a ‘Report comment’ option). protocols.io staff will assess the flagged comment. Any comment deemed inappropriate will be removed.

Figures

All content published on protocols.io, including figures and tables, is licensed CC-BY.  Please include attribution when appropriate (this should include title, author, source, and license). Please do not include any figures, photos, tables, or other works that have previously been copyrighted unless you can supply written permission from the copyright holder to use that content. Content that is posted that has previously been copyrighted will be removed from the site.
