Abstract
Methods for the generation and maintenance of transgenic tyrosinase mice
Pronuclear microinjection of the human tyrosinase complementary DNA fused to the rat tyrosine hydroxylase promoter into C57Bl6-SJL (RRID:MGI:5656718) mouse zygotes
Selection of positive lines and backcrossing for 8-10 generations using C57BL/6J mice (Charles River; RRID:MGI:3028467)
Maintainance in heterozygosis by crossing heterozygous males with C57BL76J females
Housed two to five per cage with ad libitum access to food and water during a 12 hours (h) light/dark cycle (light-on 8 a.m.)
