Guanidine hydrochoride is a strong irritant to skin and mucous membranes, and can cause severe eye injury. Wear personal protective equipment (gloves, lab coat, safety glasses). For skin contact, immediately wash with water and soap and rinse thoroughly. In case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water for 15 minutes and seek medical advice. If accidentally ingested immediately contact a physician.
