Abstract
The reducing power of samples were assayed using the Guo et al.1 ml of the extractwas added to 2.5 ml of phosphate buffer (0.2 M, pH 6.6) and 2.5 ml of 1% potassium ferricyanide.After 20 min, 2.5 ml of 10% trichloroacetic acid (TCA)was added, followed by centrifugation at 3000 rpm for 10 min. The upper layer (2.5 ml) was mixed with 2.5 ml of distilled water and 0.5 ml of 0.1% ferric chloride, after 10 min, the absorbance was measured at 700 nm. EC50 was calculated from the graph of an inhibition percentageagainst extract concentration.
