Abstract
Open field test can be used to evaluate locomotor activity in rodents.
Prepare the open field arena.
Allow the animal to acclimate to the testing environment for one hour.
The mice were placed in the plexiglass chamber (11 × 11 in with clear 8-in high walls) and were allowed to explore for a period of 10 min.
The total distance travelled was measured with software Ethovision XT 9.0, Noldus Information Technology, The Netherlands.
