Abstract
Mitophagy induction in HeLa cells using Difereprone (DFP).
Day 1
Seed cells, aiming for a confluency of 80-90% at the time of treatment the next day.
Day 2

Feed cells for 01:00:00 in an appropriate volume of standard growth media.

During the feed, warm up the difereprone (DFP) stock aliquot in a 37 °C waterbath. Centrifuge the stock tube after thawing to ensure the DFP has returned to solution.
To start the treatment, replace the media in each well with standard growth media that contains 1 millimolar (mM) DFP.
Harvest the samples after the desired treatment times.
