Abstract
Induction of starvation stress using EBSS in HeLa cells
Day 1
Seed cells, aiming for a confluency of 90 – 100% at the time of treatment the next day.
Day 2

Feed cells for 01:00:00 in an appropriate volume of standard growth media.

Remove the media, and wash each well 3 times with an ample amount of room temperature PBS (eg. Wash with 3 mL of PBS per well of a 6 well plate).
After the third wash, add an appropriate volume of Earle’s Balanced Salt Solution (EBSS) to each well/plate.
After 08:00:00 of incubation in EBSS, harvest all samples for analysis.
