Prepare 1% Eosin Y stock
Weigh 2 g of Eosin Y powderFisher ScientificCatalog #E511-25 and add it to a 1000mL flask
Note
It must be Eosin Y disodium salt or it will not dissolve in water.
Add 40 mL of ddwater and swirl to mix
add 160 mL of 95% ethanol and swirl to mix
add 1 mL of Glacial Acetic acid
Preparing working dilution of Eosin Y
Use 80% ethanol to dilute stock to the desired concentration of eosin.
Note
Working solution should be at 3.5
Use drops of Glacial acetic acid to acidify
