Age 18-35 or 50 and over
English Speaking
Able to provide consent
Undergoing reconstructive or aesthetic procedures necessitating skin excision at the scalp or abdomen
 
Exclusion
 
Known collagen disorder
Strong personal history of keloid formation
Deemed unfit for general anesthesia
Active infection of skin where samples may be taken
Sample collection guideline
Patient samples will be obtained from skin that is to be discarded from patients presenting for reconstructive or aesthetic procedures necessitating skin excision. No other procedures or follow-up is needed for research purposes.
Inclusion/Exclusion Criteria

Inclusion
Age 18-35 or 50 and over
English Speaking
Able to provide consent
Undergoing reconstructive or aesthetic procedures necessitating skin excision at the scalp or abdomen

Known collagen disorder
Strong personal history of keloid formation
Deemed unfit for general anesthesia
