Abstract
Behavioral test for anxiety-like behaviors in mice.
Materials
  • 45 x 20 x 20cm custom box divided into 1/3 dark (covered with lid, <5lux) and 2/3 white (~100lux)
  • video recording set up
  • cleaning solution
Set up the dark light box. See materials.
Place each mouse into the dark compartment before closing the lid and left to explore for 6 minutes.
Video record each experiments.
Manually score for each animal the time in the light box as well as the number of times the mouse entered the light box.
