Abstract
The purpose of this protocol is to prepare a growth media for
spirulina (Arthrospira platensis). Arthrospira
platensis is a cyanobacterium species usually found in alkali
environments rich with carbonate and bicarbonate concentrations. Arthrospira
platensis cultures thrive in media with a pH between 9 and 10, with high
bicarbonate concentrations, inorganic salts, and trace Nutrients.
