Abstract
This protocol describes the construction of a portable PVC transport table designed to support, protect, and move the AC3 Bee Hunting cone during Maker Lab, classroom, and field activities. The table measures 122 cm by 61 cm and is built using a 1/2-inch PVC panel, four hinges, two handles, and PVC screws.
Materials
1 PVC panel, 4' x 8' and 1/2 inch thick
4 hinges
2 handles
8 PVC screws
Screwdriver
Measuring tape
Pencil or marker
PVC saw
Safety glasses and gloves
Procedure
Measure and Cut the Panel
Use the measuring tape to mark a rectangle measuring 122 cm x 61 cm on the PVC panel. Verify all measurements before cutting and carefully cut along the marked lines.
Mark the Hinge Locations
Position the 4 hinges in the center area of the table according to the plan and mark the attachment points.
Install the Hinges
Secure the hinges using the PVC screws and ensure that they move freely.
Install the Handles
Install one handle on each side end of the table according to the plan.
Final Inspection
Check the screws, hinge movement, handle stability, and the safety of all edges.
Project Evaluation
Follow the established dimensions accurately.
Install the 4 hinges in the specified locations.
Install the 2 handles according to the plan.
Maintain a safe and organized work area.
Present a functional and durable transport table.
Expected Final Product
A transport table measuring 122 cm x 61 cm, constructed from 1/2-inch-thick PVC, equipped with 4 hinges and 2 handles, ready to be used and transported safely.
