Grow P.a. in PZM (=50% nutrient)

Zobell plates, 20% nutrient (1 L)
26 g sea salts
0.2 g yeast extract
1 g proteose peptone no. 2
fill to 1 L qH2O
12 g agar

Autoclave 1 L for 50 min., pour 10 ml/plate

Zobell liquid, (1 L)
26 g sea salts
1 g yeast extract
5 g proteose peptone no. 2
fill to 1 L qH2O

Top Zobell agar (; 1 L)
26 g sea salts
1 g yeast extract
5 g proteose peptone no. 2
fill to 1 L qH2O
6 g agar

MSM (1 L)
100 mM NaCl (5.8 g)
81.2 mM MgSO4·7H2O (20 g)
50 mM Tris base (3.02 g) OR 50 mL 1 M Tris (pH 7.6)

adjust to pH 7–8 if necessary
