Abstract
Our standard protocol for making streptomycin stock solutions

Weigh 5 grams of streptomycin (VWR/Avantor 97061-528) and add to a small beaker.
Add a magnetic stir bar and 50 ml of milliQ water and put on a magnetic stir plate. Mix until streptomycin is dissolved.
Put a sterile 0.22 µm syringe filter onto a 50 ml sterile syringe and use it to sterilize streptomycin stock, injecting it into a sterile 50 ml conical tube.
Make 1 ml aliquots and store at -20ºC. Aliquots are good for at least one year.
